Learning Design and Administration
Learning design and administration encompasses all the processes that support the full sequence of activities which together comprise the individual’s holistic learning journey - now and in the future.
APS Learning Design and Administration Manual (the Manual)
The APS Learning Design and Administration Manual (the Manual or LDAM) pulls together practical principles, examples, useful links, tools and templates in order to provide guidance on minimal and universal standards in learning design and management. The Manual complements the APS Learning Quality Framework, with the ultimate goal of ensuring a consistent high quality learning experience for all APS employees.
The Manual has been created to compile guidance on topics across the life-cycle of creating and managing learning solutions and programs. It details elements which a user would need to consider before developing or updating a learning solution/experience. Each element explains what it is and why it is important. It then provides a guide of good and poor practice and directs the user to tools and resources to further support that element.
| NOTE: The guidance and templates within the Manual are not meant to replace any agency-specific templates or guidance. Ensure to reach out to your agency’s relevant L&D areas and comply with any policies from your agency. |
Why is the Manual important?
The Manual strengthens a collaborative One-APS approach to learning and development by supporting L&D staff to understand the Learning Quality Framework and apply it consistently across the APS, providing a common approach to understanding, organising and accessing L&D information and resources.
The Manual has been developed by the APS Academy in consultation with agencies from across the network.
This page is currently under development and will continue to be updated with additional links and resources.
