This section provides useful information to help teams: map the project from start to end; identify stakeholders and approvals; plan how to undergo user acceptance testing and ensure the learning solution/experience is fit for purpose; and plan how to communicate and promote the learning solution/experience prior and after deployment.

Some activities listed under here will be continually worked on as the project progresses and need to be revisited throughout different stages.

In some instances, depending on the template some elements may be incorporated into the one document. For example a Learning Plan, L&D Solution – Development Plan, and Project Plan can be standalone or incorporated into one document. There is no right or wrong approach as each learning experience and scenario is unique.

Learning solutions and experience

Learning solutions focus on practical skills using clear outcomes, blended methods, and APS standards. Early attention to accessibility, governance, and quality reduces rework and increases confidence. User Acceptance Testing resolves issues before rollout, improving trust, adoption, and workplace use.

General planning

Planning directs learning choices based on evidence and priorities. Gap analysis assesses needed skills and fit, while learning plans provide a prioritised roadmap aligned with organisational goals and APS guidance. This approach improves consistency, transparency, resource efficiency, and ongoing capability.
