APS Leadership Edge is a cohort-based social learning program which will enable EL 2's to develop their leadership and management skills through a range of learning sprints and activities.

Over the 10 months, the program will provide opportunities to embed learnings through practical application and expand professional networks across the APS through discussions in a large cohort and small group activities. All work is done virtually, and delivered flexibly to enable EL2s to participate regardless of where they are or what they do.

This learning experience has been provided by the APS Academy.

Participant benefits

  • Create and action a personalised learning and development plan tailored to participants.

  • Develop a better understanding of key leadership themes in the APS, including integrity, developing speak up culture, adaptive leadership, good work design, coaching and mentoring and leading in AI.

  • Combine learning in synchronous (real-time interactions with others) and asynchronous (independently completed activities) modes.

  • Connect and widen networks amongst peers by contributing within cohort discussions, Peer Pod activities and joining the APS Leadership Edge Community.

  • Hear shared experiences and gain insights into the work and ways of working across the APS from others.

Considerations

  • This program will have three intakes during 2026. Feb, May and August. It is essential to enrol before the registration intake period closes (5 business days before Orientation commences).

  • This program will be delivered virtually through Cahoot Learning. You will need to ensure the platform and email addresses are whitelisted by your agency.

  • Program spans over 10 months. A minimum of one hour a fortnight is required, with some periods requiring up to 5 hours a fortnight to complete learning sprints.

  • Access to the Cahoot Learning platform will be granted on the first day of your session via email. Note that Cahoot does engage in two-factor authentication

Suitable for

EL 2 and high performing EL 1s with supervisor support. For EL 1s, your supervisor will need to submit a letter of support for you to participate. This will need to be uploaded upon registration.

Category and User level

This learning experience aligns with the Leadership and Management Craft at the Practitioner level.

Price

$2000 per attendee. Payment by credit card.
