​Embedding risk management into your entity’s DNA is designed for Commonwealth officials who are preparing to, or currently, work in a role where they are responsible for implementing their entities approach to managing risk. Typically, you have the responsibility for establishing your entity’s risk management frameworks and systems and building the risk management capability in your entity.  

​If this is not your role, we suggest you register in the Practical Risk Management course. This course will build your understanding of the concepts of managing risk and provide you with the tools to manage risk at a program or project level. 

This learning experience has been provided by the Department of Finance.   

Participant benefits

  • Establish and monitor the implementation and application of your entity’s risk management framework
  • Establish and embed systematic risk management into the business processes of your entity
  • Communicate and consult about risk in your entity
  • Identify and monitor risk that is shared across your entity
  • Maintain your entity’s risk management capability
  • Review and recommend continuous improvement to the management of risk across your entity

Suitable for

APS 4 - EL 2. APS officials who have the responsibility for establishing risk management frameworks and systems and building the risk management capability in your entity.

Considerations

  • Delivery methods: face to face and face to screen offerings.
  • Class time: 2 full days.
  • Workplace based project: may require up to 12 hours of effort. There is a gap between day 1 and day 2 to allow for the completion of the workplace project.

This learning experience is part of the Commonwealth Risk Management Training Suite and aligns with Working in Government craft at the Practitioner level.
