Share and reuse learning experiences
Working together to support One-APS
APSLearn
APSLearn is our learning platform offering a wide range of learning experiences to help APS people uplift their knowledge and capabilities. In addition, we also offer different types of facilitated course offerings for agencies. For those who are in a learning and development (L&D) team, please read How do I become a Reporting Officer.
APS Learning Bank
The APS Learning Bank (Learning Bank) is a centralised repository for agencies to share and reuse learning experiences with each other.
For agencies who join the Learning Bank, their nominated L&D contacts will gain access to APSLearn (restricted section) and GovTeams. Reporting Officers can access the system to monitor users within their organisation and run reports.
Commonwealth entities are invited to join the APS Learning Bank. Agencies will require the relevant delegate to agree and sign a Terms and Conditions (if your entity is a non-corporate commonwealth entity) or a Deed (other entity types) before gaining access to Learning Bank.
Agencies who join the Learning Bank, their nominated L&D contacts will gain access to:
APSLearn (restricted section): L&D contacts can search the catalogue of selected learning experiences available for reuse, view those learning experiences and then submit a reuse request. It is important for L&D Contacts to keep their APSLearn profile up to date to gain access to key information and alerts. Please note, not every learning experience in APSLearn is part of the Learning Bank.
GovTeams: L&D contacts can share learning experiences and access the specific requested learning experience files. These files can then be uploaded into their agency’s learning management system to be reused.
Target Audience
The Learning Bank is currently available to Commonwealth entities who register.
Benefits
The Learning Bank enables the APS Academy and Commonwealth entities to share learning experiences across APS agencies, regardless of if they use the same learning platform as us. This shared access promotes efficient resource utilisation and reduces the need for agencies to develop or procure similar content independently.
APS Partner Content
The APS Partner Content feature facilitates the sharing of learning experiences across Acorn catalogues, allowing users to discover more APS learning experiences directly from their agency’s learning platform. This feature simplifies the movement between systems, user registration processes and data sharing, enabling seamless tracking of learning progress with your agency’s system.
Target Audience
The APS Partner Content feature is available to APS agencies that use Acorn. Once enabled, learners can then access a larger catalogue of APS learning offerings. We are exploring options to extend access to other learning platforms via other integrations.
Benefits
The APS Partner Content feature reduces administrative overheads on the APS Academy and participating agencies by streamlining the user journey, sharing of learning experiences and reporting.
Is the feature enabled in our agency?
If your agency has already enabled this feature, please go to the 'Catalogue' view, please click on 'All filters', next click on 'APS Shared Content' and then click on 'Apply'. You should now see learning experiences from APSLearn.
Please first contact your L&D or Human Resources team to confirm if your agency will be participating.
How the Learning Bank and APS Partner Content complement each other
Both pathways allow agencies to benefit from a centralised and coordinated system for sharing and reusing learning experiences.
The APS Partner Content feature complements the Learning Bank by providing a streamlined process for agencies wanting to use 'as is' existing learning experiences without having to host the learning manually themselves.
Contributing to the Learning Bank not only enriches the catalogue but also provides a wider variety of options to support learning within your agency. The Learning Bank also serves as a platform to share courses with agencies that do not use the Acorn system, ensuring accessibility to all agencies regardless of their technical compatibility.
We encourage agencies not yet utilising the Learning Bank to join and reap its benefits.
