Learning Culture
Embedding a learning culture across an organisation means all employees can take part in meaningful learning activities as part of their everyday work.
A learning culture exists at every level of an organisation. It includes learning as an individual, with peers, and in groups, through both formal training and informal experiences.
As identified in the APS Learning and Development Strategy, a continuous learning culture is essential for adapting to change and supporting long term capability. This means all APS employees need opportunities to learn constantly from their work and from others, as described in the APS Continuous Learning Model.
Although every employee contributes to creating a continuous learning environment, supporting this culture is also a key role of Learning and Development (L&D). This role is different from other learning services because embedding organisation wide change and maintaining a learning culture is complex, long-term and ongoing.
This page brings together guidance and resources to enable, build and sustain a strong organisational learning culture.
