This session* sets out the safety, security and privacy considerations that underpin responsible AI adoption across the Australian Government. It focuses on how strong policy, governance and technical controls enable agencies to confidently embrace AI while safeguarding public trust, sensitive information and government systems.
Participants will gain a foundational understanding of the core principles, expectations and practical guardrails that support safe and secure AI use. The session emphasises proportionate risk management, transparency and accountability, and shows how shared, coordinated approaches can reduce fragmentation and support responsible development of AI and adoption of generative AI in practice through case studies.
