Lunch and Learn - Session 3: Find the right policy content with AI
Jointly presented by GovAI and the APS Academy

“Policies + AI” is an RBA search assistant designed as a resource to help Bank staff efficiently retrieve information from the Bank’s corporate policies, procedures and guidelines (“corporate policies”). The technology underpinning the tool is called Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). RAG optimises the output of a Large Language Model (LLM) by referencing an authoritative knowledge base before generating a response. In our application, users submit a query about the Bank’s corporate policies and receive three pieces of information in return: (1) links to the underlying policy and procedure(s); (2) the top three relevant paragraphs from the documents; and (3) an LLM-generated textual response. The tool has been explicitly designed to be a search assistant only, with staff encouraged to treat the tool as one of several resources to help them navigate the Bank’s corporate policies.
