Lunch and Learn - Session 15: Leading Through Change: AI, Messaging & Management
As AI becomes more embedded in public service work, leaders play a critical role in guiding their teams through change. This session explores how AI can be used as a practical tool to support change management, build confidence, and uplift capability across the APS. Through real-world examples and practitioner insights, we’ll examine how clear messaging and thoughtful leadership can foster self-directed learning, encourage experimentation, and enable teams to grow their skills in a rapidly evolving environment.

Presenters
Georgia Conway
Georgia is the Engagement Lead for GovAI, with a strong background in strategic communications, digital marketing, and supporting teams through change. She has worked across the Australian Public Service, not-for-profit, and private sector, leading projects in branding, engagement, and organisational change. Georgia takes a people-first approach, helping teams build confidence with new technology through clear, inclusive, and accessible communication. She is passionate about making AI feel approachable and practical, showing how it can boost productivity, streamline work, and strengthen engagement. Drawing on her experience, she helps teams achieve real, meaningful results with AI tools in a public sector setting.
Holly Luck
Holly Luck is the Stakeholder Engagement and Support Officer at GovAI and a PROSCI-certified change management professional. She brings a practical, people-first approach to supporting public sector teams through technological change. With a focus on accessibility and inclusion, Holly is dedicated to making AI learning straightforward and helping non-technical users build confidence in new tools and systems. Regarded as a key source of support within GovAI, her collaborative approach and commitment to inclusion have made her a trusted leader in advancing AI literacy across the public sector.

Daniel Parris
Daniel Parris is an Engagement Manager with GovAI, a whole-of-government program in the Department of Finance working to enable responsible and effective AI adoption across the Australian Public Service (APS). In his role, Daniel works with agencies to accelerate AI adoption through information sharing, capability building, and supporting cross-agency connections. He also oversees the APS AI Use Case Library, which is a central GovAI resource showcasing real-world AI applications in Government, promoting reuse, and fostering innovation across the public sector.
Before joining GovAI, Daniel worked across governance, sustainability, and policy settings. This included work on APS climate reporting, ESG research and methodology design for global investors, and academic research on sustainable finance and climate risk. Daniel has also facilitated group programs in diverse settings, from interactive public service workshops to immersive cultural experiences in remote Indigenous communities.
