Pilot AI Capability Training Program for the APS (EL1 and APS employees) - 16 April
The APS Academy is offering a Pilot AI capability development program for Australian Public Service employees in support of the AI Plan for the Australian Public Service. Participants will learn to use generative AI tools to augment and accelerate specific tasks within their work. This includes drafting, summarising and analysing documents; extracting insights from large volumes of material; working with structured and unstructured data; generating, reviewing and troubleshooting code or formulae, and preparing briefing and communication materials.
This learning experience has been provided by the Australian Public Service Academy in collaboration with the CSIRO and Data 61.
Participant benefits

- Evaluate AI-generated content critically identifying errors, hallucinations, bias and gaps.
- Explore personal workflows that integrate AI assistance with your own expertise, maintaining appropriate human oversight and quality assurance.
- Analyse the ethical boundaries, security requirements and organisational policies governing AI use in the APS, and apply to day-to-day decision-making on use of AI tools

Considerations
- All participants MUST have a GovTeams account and have access to GovAI, this cannot be actioned by APS Academy.

- If participants do not have a GovTeams account and access to GovAI they are not able to participate in this Pilot program.

Free of charge. Workshops offered as part of the Pilot program will be free of charge.
