Microcredentials
The APS Academy has partnered with highly esteemed universities, to develop four ground breaking postgraduate-level microcredentials designed for public servants. Designed by leading APS practitioners and academics, these programs provide high-quality learning tailored to the demands of our APS workforce. All four microcredentials are now open to Commonwealth and state and territory public servants.
What are ‘Microcredentials’?
Microcredentials are short industry-aligned programs or certifications, delivered by universities and registered training providers, that validate specific skills or knowledge. They offer a flexible, targeted way to enhance skills and advance careers.
By blending academic rigour with industry relevance, microcredentials are reshaping tertiary education reform. Shorter than a degree or certificate but still providing in-depth learning and assured outcomes, microcredentials offer a high-quality and cost-effective way to develop capability in targeted areas.
By stacking microcredentials, individuals can create an individualised learning pathway of high-quality, accredited learning.
Upon completion, learners receive recognition through a digital badge and credit towards post-graduate university qualifications.
Microcredentials supporting APS priorities
Selected microcredentials have clear alignment with APS priorities, ensuring a future-ready workforce through innovative, flexible learning solutions.
