How can the Skills Framework for the Information Age (SFIA) support learning and development practitioners to build workforce capability and create meaningful development pathways?

This webinar explores how SFIA can be applied across the learning and development lifecycle, from identifying current workforce capabilities and skill gaps through to designing targeted learning pathways and supporting career development. Participants will gain practical insights into how skills data can be used to strengthen capability planning and align learning investments with organisational needs.

The session will showcase practical applications of SFIA in learning and development environments, demonstrating how organisations can use a consistent skills framework to move from activity-based learning delivery to capability-led workforce development.

Presented as part of Australia and New Zealand SFIA Week 2026, this session highlights how skills-based approaches can support workforce planning, learning design, career mobility and organisational capability development.

  • Explore approaches for mapping skills to learning interventions and structured development pathways.
  • Understand how SFIA supports career development, internal mobility and workforce capability planning.
  • Discover how skills data can inform succession planning and future workforce readiness.
  • Gain practical insights from organisations applying SFIA within learning and development functions.
