​This training course builds an understanding of emissions reduction planning as it relates to the Net Zero in Government Operations (NZGO) Strategy.

​The course will provide guidance on the development of an emissions reduction plan, annual reporting inclusions to show a summary of progress and requirements for annual review of the emissions reduction plan. 

​This learning experience has been provided by Department of Finance. 

Participant benefits

  • ​Identify opportunities in an entity to meet the APS Net Zero 2030 target and align with the NZGO Strategy.
  • ​Apply skills to link emissions reduction planning with emissions reduction actions and effectively engage with relevant stakeholders.
  • ​Establish an emissions reduction plan tailored to an agency's core operations and objectives.
  • Report on and review established emissions reduction plans.

Considerations

  • ​The course follows on from the Foundations of Net Zero in Government Operations course and is part of a series of training courses linked to the NZGO Strategy. ​It is recommended that Foundations of Net Zero in Government Operations is completed before commencing other Net Zero courses.
