APS Management Edge
APS Management Edge is a learning program for APS6 and Executive Level 1 (EL1) team leaders across the Australian Public Service. As a cohort-based social learning experience, Management Edge builds confidence and capability in team management and core public administration areas by creating space for peer-to-peer problem solving, cross-agency collaboration and networking alongside expert guidance and applied activities.
APS Management Edge is designed and delivered by APS practitioners, with content tailored specifically for public service contexts. Each component of the program explores a key management theme through discussion, reflection, frameworks and tools, while live learning sessions bring participants together with experts to unpack real challenges and emerging issues. These sessions are interactive, practical, and focused on what matters most for team leaders in the APS.
APS Management Edge will begin on 20 April 2026.

APS Management Edge delivery
APS Management Edge will be delivered virtually, combining learning in synchronous and asynchronous modes. Synchronous learning experiences involve real-time interaction between participants and facilitators, such as through live learnings. Asynchronous learning experiences on the other hand, allow participants to complete learning and assignments on their own schedule, without the need for real-time interaction. This approach aligns with the principles of the APS Continuous Learning Model.
Content
APS Management Edge is currently in development. It will explore team management and core public administration themes essential for effective team leadership in the APS.
Time commitment
APS Management Edge will require 1-2 hours per week through participation on the social learning platform, application of tools and frameworks in agency team leader contexts and engagement in live learnings.
The program will run for 12-14 weeks (finalised after development is completed) and will be delivered multiple times throughout the year.

$1500 per attendee. Payment by credit card.
