By the Attorney-General’s Department
The Capability Reinvestment Fund (CRF) provided funding for a project led by the Attorney-General’s Department and APSC to develop a prototype framework to better harness data to measure and monitor the effectiveness of the integrity system and the impact of reforms.
The development of the prototype framework will assist the APS in harnessing and utilising integrity data and in identifying options for further investment. The project is a first step towards guiding integrity data governance, proposing standard integrity metrics, and exploring how metrics can identify integrity issues or risks.
The prototype APS integrity data framework includes foundational work for developing guidance on integrity data governance within and across agencies, proposes an initial set of integrity-related metrics, and explores the analytical insights these metrics can offer. The prototype will be completed by the end of 2025.
The project is in the final stages of its review and evaluation. The project outcomes represent foundational work and will require further consultation, testing and validation before they are ready to be implemented more broadly.
The Australian Public Service’s CRF is an innovative approach to investing in the organisational capability of the APS.
The CRF supports our APS Reform priority to be an APS with the capability to do its job well. It focuses on the genuine systemic challenges the APS faces. It invests in initiatives to help strengthen the APS to deliver for the Australian community, now and into the future.
