Broader Economic Benefits
The Australian Government is committed to building a stronger, more prosperous and resilient economy where Australian businesses can be competitive on a domestic and international level. Key measures promoting domestic economic growth through government procurement include:
- commitments to source from Small and Medium Enterprises
- the Indigenous Procurement Policy
- the publication of annual procurement plans for significant procurements
- the requirement for procuring officials to consider the disaggregation of large projects where appropriate
- requirements under the Australian Industry Participation National Framework, the Australian Skills Guarantee and the Environmentally Sustainable Procurement Policy
- the Buy Australian Plan.
