This course is available anytime and is delivered by Virtual Self-Directed.

​The Foundations of Net Zero Emissions Reporting course is intended to enhance understanding of the reporting requirements under the Climate Action in Government Operations: Emissions Reporting Framework (the Framework) and related concepts in the Net Zero in Government Operations (NZGO) Strategy. 

​This knowledge will enable implementation of the NZGO Strategy's actions and targets and also help non-target entities in reaching any other climate targets. 

​This learning experience has been provided by Department of Finance. 

Participant benefits

  • ​Recognise the legislation that guides emissions reporting requirements.
  • Describe the types of entities required to report on their emissions from operations.
  • Recognise the emissions that entities are required to report on.
  • Explain the purpose of the NZGO Annual Progress Report (APR).

Considerations

  • ​This learning experience follows on from the Foundations of Net Zero in Government Operations course and is part of a series of training courses linked to the NZGO Strategy. It is recommended that Foundations of Net Zero in Government Operations is completed before commencing other Net Zero courses.
