This course is available anytime and is delivered by Virtual Self-Directed.

This course will introduce you to the key principles, your obligations and expected behaviours regarding how records are managed in the Australian Public Service. 

This learning experience has been provided by the APS Academy in collaboration with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Participant benefits

  • Interpret and apply the legislative framework governing privacy for Australian Government agencies.
  • Define key terms including ‘personal information’ and ‘sensitive information’.
  • Describe the use and disclosure of Personal Information.
  • Identify privacy breaches and understand the Notifiable Data Breaches Scheme (NDB).
