Building an understanding of antisemitism

This module provides a foundational understanding of Jewish identity, antisemitism, and its impact on Jewish people in contemporary Australia. Through real-life accounts and lived experiences, participants will develop the skills and confidence to recognise antisemitism, contribute to safer and more inclusive workplaces, and support social cohesion across the Australian Public Service (APS).

The content draws on the lived experiences and testimonies of Australians, including evidence provided to the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion and testimonies recorded by the Sydney Jewish Museum.

Building on the APS Foundations: Diversity and Inclusion eLearn, this module serves as foundational learning for all APS employees. Agencies and staff can build on this learning through additional training tailored to specific organisational contexts, operational requirements, specialist functions, and leadership roles.

This learning experience has been developed by the Australian Public Service Commission in partnership with Australia's Special Envoy to Combat Antisemitism (ASECA), with input from government agencies and other stakeholders.
