Being a trusted and respected partner: the APS' relationships with Ministers and their offices

This ANZSOG research paper, prepared for the Australian Public Service Review Panel, reviews the APS relationship with Ministers and their offices.

The paper explores the nature and quality of those relationships, how relationships affect the quality of public administration, and how relationships they have changed over time.

It also explores a vision of a trusted and responsive APS, with clearer lines of distinction between politics and public administration.
