This eLearning program is designed to build awareness and capability in digital records preservation across Australian Government (Commonwealth) agencies.

Digital preservation encompasses the processes and practices that ensure digital information remains authentic, accessible and usable over time, despite changes to technology, file formats and systems. The program provides practical insights into recordkeeping, information management, data governance and IT practices that are essential for Australian Public Service employees who create, manage or use digital information.

The program consists of four modules to support agency implementation of the Building trust in the public record policy. It explores the principles and practices of digital preservation and their role in supporting trustworthy public records.

Effective information management is everyone's responsibility. All individuals working for, or on behalf of, the Australian Government, including employees, contractors, consultants and volunteers, play a role in ensuring information is managed appropriately and remains reliable, accessible and secure over time.
