This course is available anytime and is delivered by Virtual Self-Directed.

​This module introduces the role of metadata for digital preservation to increase digital preservation awareness and skills in Australian Government agencies. It covers some basics of digital preservation, including the importance of digital formats, concepts such as bits and bytes, various file formats, and the risks associated with the use of proprietary formats.  

This module is designed to support agency implementation of the Building trust in the public record policy.

​Everyone has a role in managing government information well. This module is to help you meet your recordkeeping obligations with confidence, including implementing the Building trust in the public record policy.
