This learning experience is a 2 hour instructor-led training for SES staff focusing on the role of the Sponsor and practical approaches to lead and support change outcomes. The training addresses the fundamental principles and benefits of change management. By understanding Sponsor responsibilities, participants can gain support, communicate change clearly, and seek alignment with the change objectives. Additionally, recognising the impact of change on staff well-being allows for the implementation of strategies that promote psychological safety and resilience.

This learning experience has been provided by the Australian Public Service Commission.   

Participant benefits

  • Explain the importance and benefits of having effective change management practices.
  • Define, gain support and communicate change in your role as the Change Sponsor.
  • Identify how change can affect staff well-being and apply strategies to cope with change challenges.
  • Demonstrate change leadership, including through the use of the APS Change Framework and the SCARF model.

SES Band 1 - SES Band 3.
