APSLearn: AI Ready - small group coaching labs

As part of the SES AI pathway, The AI Ready – small group coaching lab is an open space for SES to continue targeted exploration and experimentation with AI in a collaborative, hands-on environment alongside peers. Attending an AI Ready coaching lab is a natural progression after completing the AI Foundations for Senior Leaders workshop.

These coaching lab sessions are facilitated by Sam Bide, co-head of the AI CoLab Alliance, an ANZSOG Innovation and Integration Fellow, and creator of Insight Bridge, an AI platform for inclusive citizen engagement.

SES participants are encouraged to bring a challenge, problem, or area of interest with them on the day. As part of a small group motivated to experiment and explore, the lab is a space to pressure-test ideas and discover practical impactful ways to adopt AI with confidence.

Through devices hosted in the AI CoLab's internet cafe-inspired ('AI cafe') environment, SES will have safe, sandboxed access to a select range of AI tools on the day.

This learning experience has been provided by the Australian Public Service Commission in partnership with APS Academy and the AI CoLab.

Participant benefits

  • Explore how AI can support better decision-making, service delivery and citizen engagement.
  • Gain hands on experience with AI tools in a small group of peers.
  • Solve real challenges by pressure testing ideas.
  • Discover practical impactful ways to adopt AI with confidence.

Suitable for

SES Band 1 - SES Band 3

Considerations

  • These sessions are held for in person attendance at the AI CoLab, Level 4, 1 Moore Street, Canberra city.
  • Registration for specific AI Ready – small group coaching lab events are only available via unique links shared through APSLearn. Due to the cross-sector collaboration and public facing nature of broader AI CoLab initiatives, registrations for (and visibility of) these specific SES sessions will not be available directly on the AI CoLab webpage calendar of events.
  • Due to the small group nature of these events, capacity limits do apply. Additional sessions are regularly scheduled and updated within APSLearn as they become available.
