This course is available anytime and is delivered by Virtual Self-Directed.

This training course is designed to develop an understanding of Commonwealth Climate Disclosure requirements for Commonwealth entities and small Commonwealth companies. This course is not appropriate for large Commonwealth companies publishing sustainability reports under the Corporations Act and following Australian Sustainability Reporting Standard AASB S2 Climate-related Disclosures. 

​The content of this course has been developed by the Commonwealth Climate Disclosure team in the Climate Action in Government Operations Unit. 

​This learning experience has been provided by Department of Finance. 

Participant benefits

  • ​Describe the Commonwealth Climate Disclosure policy.
  • Identify which tranche their entity or company falls under, the year they start publishing a climate disclosure and which Commonwealth Climate Disclosure Requirements document to refer to.
  • Define the core categories of the Commonwealth Climate Disclosure Requirements for each year of phased implementation.
  • Apply the Commonwealth Climate Disclosure Requirements to develop their entity's annual Climate Disclosure.

Considerations

  • ​The course follows on from the Foundations of Net Zero in Government Operations course and the Introduction to Commonwealth Climate Disclosure course. The course is part of a series of training courses linked to the NZGO Strategy.  
  • It is recommended that Foundations of Net Zero in Government Operations is completed before commencing other Net Zero courses.  
  • ​It is recommended that the Introduction to Commonwealth Climate Disclosure is completed before commencing other Net Zero courses.

This learning experience is part of the Climate Action in Government Operations Program and aligns with the Strategy, Policy, & Evaluation Craft at the Foundation level.
