Content maintenance checklist

Review your content for relevance and accuracy. Analyse performance metrics against any KPIs you’ve set.

Use these checks and indicators to decide what to do, to improve your content.

Relevance 

• Check if your business and user needs have changed. 
• If your content has an expiry date, check when it needs to be removed. 
• Is your content user-focused?Accuracy Apply any factual updates that need to be made. 
• Advise on any other recommended changes. For example, this may be as simple as changing an image. 
• Assess whether the content needs to be removed or changed. If not now, when?

• Decide if you need to update your keyword strategy.

KPIs 

• Review analytics and performance reports. 
• Assess the metrics to know how the the content is tracking and performing against any KPIs that you’ve set. 

Your success measures will include:

• Usability - do the results indicate you need to do further research? 
• Findability - do you need to revise your metadata or keyword strategy? 
• Accessibility - do your metrics indicate issues with readability, WCAG 2.0 compliance, or cultural and linguistically diverse users?
