By the APS Academy
The APS Academy and AusIndustry have partnered to build APS business engagement capability through the development of a 10 minute video called: Business Engagement Tips from AusIndustry Regional Managers.
The design process
We wanted something engaging, scalable and bite-sized so that people could easily access the learning in the flow of work.
The design process involved members of the APS Academy consulting with AusIndustry staff to:
- Fill a gap we had identified in OneAPS learning about Engagement and Partnership.
- Align to the APS Continuous Learning Model.
- Meet the learning design standards of the APS Learning Quality Framework.
AusIndustry proposed the concept of a video to achieve learning through ‘people’ and ‘resources’ to deliver an impactful, high-quality learning experience. AusIndustry then identified the right people to share their experience and developed the video.
The video
Drawing on the expertise of AusIndustry Regional Managers who work directly with businesses, the video showcases their top 10 tips for optimal business and stakeholder engagement.
In the video, the Regional Managers share the fundamentals of engagement and partnership, including how to: understand your audience to make an influential impression, maximise your time with stakeholders, link needs to support, connect with available networks and establish a collaborative and productive relationship.
The result of this partnership is a resource that supports capability uplift in the Engagement and Partnership Craft which is available now to all APS people via the APSC Academy website: Business Engagement Tips from AusIndustry Regional Managers.
