Nominations are open for the new APS Indo-Pacific Executive Development Program.
The Program is delivered in partnership with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Asialink, Australia's National Centre for Asia Capability. It builds competence in domestic and international policy development and international stakeholder engagement.
The target audience is EL 2 and high performing EL 1 staff working on domestic policy issues linked to climate and energy transition. It is also relevant to staff who work on international policy issues with Australian domestic agencies, who require specialist knowledge of the Asia and Pacific region.
Commencing on 2 November 2023, the Program is a seven-month learning journey combining in-person and virtual learning experiences. It helps staff engage skilfully and confidently with the people, systems, and institutions of other countries to advance Australia’s domestic and international interests.
- Participants apply learnings from deep dives on Indonesia and Papua New Guinea in a final project.
- Participants may also complete a self-directed regional visit.
The Capability Reinvestment Fund is funding the cost to agencies so there is no registration fee. Agencies are required to cover costs associated with in-person learning in Canberra and the optional regional visit.
Nominations for participation close at midnight on 6 October. Registrations for successful applicants will be open from 20 – 26 October through APSLearn.
