The Academy’s 2022 course calendar is now live! With almost 300 course deliveries this year, there is something to help every APS employee master their craft.
Whether you’re starting a new role, moving into a leadership position for the first time, looking to expand your skillset, or have a specific capability gap, the Academy’s broad range of courses can support you to perform at your best.
This year we’re pleased to offer courses delivered by centres of excellence across the APS, including:
- the Change Management Intensive from the Change Management Centre of Excellence at the Department of Home Affairs
- the Workforce Planning Start Up program from the Australian Public Service Commission’s Workforce Planning Centre of Excellence, and
- Human Centred Design 101 from BizLab at the Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources.
We’ve also added new learning opportunities for you to apply the skills you learn through our courses. For example, once you’ve completed Coaching and Developing Others you can join our Co-Coaching Circles to practice your coaching skills in a supportive environment with a qualified coach. We are also continually updating our toolkits with resources to support your learning on-the-job.
So where to from here?
We encourage you to talk to your manager about your development needs and make a plan for the year. If you manage people, have a conversation with them about their development needs and help them make a plan for the year as well.
Here on the Academy website, you can access information about our courses in a couple of ways. Firstly, the full delivery calendar for the year is available here. If you want more information about a course, you can search by the course name, or go to APS Craft, select the relevant craft, then scroll down to the Courses heading. In here, you’ll be able to see the course description, dates, costs and learning outcomes.
You can now register for courses to 30 June, and our July to December courses will be open for registrations shortly. To register for courses (and our events and elearning modules), log into our new APSLearn. If you don’t already have an APSLearn profile, it’s easy to register as a new user.
We’ll be adding new courses, events and resources throughout the year, and the best way to keep up to date is to subscribe to the MyAcademy newsletter.
We look forward to seeing you at the Academy (virtually or in person) during 2022.
