SES Band 2 Leadership Development Program - September

This course strengthens the leadership capability of senior executives to effectively perform the expected range of high-level responsibilities. These executives play a critical role in shaping and implementing strategy and building a high-performing workplace. 

This program includes the following components:  

  • 1 virtual individual orientation
  • 2 virtual workshops
  • 1 face-to-face workshop
  • 1 immersive workshop.


Parts of this course are run in Canberra and Western Sydney. 

Pre-work activities are to be completed prior to attending the course.

For face-to-face sessions delivery will take place in line with jurisdictional COVID-19 restrictions. Should restrictions change this delivery may be rescheduled or updated to be delivered virtually.

Unless you have an exemption, you must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 to attend a face-to-face activity. You will be required to show proof of vaccination on the day of the activity. If you are not vaccinated for COVID-19 please call the APS Academy to discuss.

For face-to-screen sessions the delivery of online-facilitated sessions use a virtual classroom tool (e.g. Zoom, Adobe Connect, WebEx or Pexip). Agencies have access to different virtual classroom tools. Prior to enrolling in a course, it is suggested that you check if you have any restrictions on using the tools. If you would like to complete the course, but cannot access the virtual classroom tool on your work device or network, we recommend you use a personal device such as a laptop or computer with a strong network to support you at home or another offsite location. This offering is facilitated by a facilitator from the APS Academy. The Academy has facilitators based across Australia with extensive experience from a career in the public and private sectors with varying experience and subject matter expertise.
