MasterCraft Series - Workforce Planning for Leaders

This MasterCraft Series event presents leaders with an opportunity to understand and address workforce challenges in their teams.

The session will provide evidence-based workforce insights, highlight priority workforce risk areas, and articulate the role of leaders in addressing and mitigating workforce risks within their teams. The session will demonstrate workforce management tools and strategies for leaders to address these risks and build engaged, highly capable and high performing teams.

Grace Liew is a Senior Advisor in the APS Centre of Excellence for Workforce Planning. Prior to joining the Commission, Grace worked in the private sector in a variety of roles focused on organisational culture and processes that enable the achievement of strategic goals. Grace’s experience spans across data analysis, assurance, management systems and processes, project management and various HR roles with a strong focus on organisational development.

Jo Walkley

Jo Walkley is a dedicated professional with over two decades of experience in recruitment, workforce planning, and talent management. Jo joined the APS in 2021 and has been Workforce Planning and Strategy Senior Advisor at the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) since 2023 where she plays a pivotal role in implementing strategic workforce planning initiatives and fostering collaboration within the APS community.

Prior to working at the APSC, Jo worked in Australia and the UK where she honed her skills in recruitment, workforce planning and process improvement. With a Bachelor of Communication from Griffith University, Jo combines her passion for data, strategic planning, and leadership to drive positive outcomes throughout the employee lifecycle.
