MasterCraft Series: The Modern Public Service and its Future
The modern public service has to confront a number of significant challenges which require a fundamental adaptation of its traditional models of delivery. Challenges such as climate change, intergenerational disadvantage and the COVID pandemic are just three recent examples of problems that have a global dimension and cannot be solved by individual agencies operating in silos.
A networked approach, involving the community and the resourcing of soft-systems is required rather than the traditional urge to construct a bricks and mortar response.
This masterclass will:
- Examine the key drivers for change in the modern public service and their implications for the future public sector.
- Provide attendees with a better understanding of the future position of the public service in the community
- Improve attendee understanding of the change and innovation processes that are transforming the public sector.
